Interactive sound installation
By Josep-Maria Balanyà

This installation consists of 53 polished stainless steel pieces of various shapes and weight, hung with nylon thread to a 3 x 3 m iron frame suspended at a height of about 4 m.
Twelve of the pieces are prepared with small vibrating motors. Through an electronic program, these engines will reproduce a composition.
In addition, the installation can be played with mallets and drumsticks. Thus, visitors to the exhibition can spontaneously play the pieces and make music.
The installation was premiered at the Europäische Kunstakademie Trier, Germany, on August 9, 2012.
